It looks like this is going to be a long term project since it is taking a LOT longer than I thought it would. Fortunately I am enjoying it so I will just change to making installment posts as I get more features finished. I did manage to get some small pieces done this week both in the real garage and the model. I am playing around with my new phone and the camera doesn’t suck. check out these shots of an engine hoist I scratch built from foam core compared to the real thing I just moved a couple of engines with down in the shop.

I clearly do not have enough junk in my model shop. I need to make some caster wheels for the hoist and add a hydraulic jack to it. but it looks passable.

Battery Charger

I put together the battery charger from the AMT kit and did some custom paint instead of decals. Since I am still scared of my airbrush the gloss black has some horrible brush marks but the controls look believeable and the tubing that came with it was too flexible so I inserted a tiny wire into each so they hold the bends better. I need to get a turn table so I can get some better all around pictures but thes will have to do for now. I like the distant ones until I noticed the vette was not actually resting on the jack stand so I moved it and got a tighter shot.

I liked the first image until I noticed the Bette seems to be levitating over the jack stand. The second one is brighter but that shows off the horrible brush work on the gloss black. The last image seems to be the best shot, but I also need one from the back to show that detail

I am almost done with a couple of other shop necessities, the compressor, roller seat, floor jack and a computer scanner. I will get them posted once I finish the paint and get some decent shots of them.
